Reviews
Feels greasy for hours after applying, smells bad.
"I got thru a whole tube of this before writing this review. I have to say, I think the SPF part may be working, but overall the product is lacking. It looks like a clear gel, but it feels like vegetable oil on your skin. It doesn't seem to absorb well; your skin feels greasy hours after applying. Additionally, it has a noticeable chemical smell, like plastic or vinyl pool toys. I like several of the Murad products, but I'll never buy this one again."

"A nice smooth easy to apply sunscreen with moisturizer! Very pleasant to use daily."
Too Greasy and Irritating for My Skin
"I really love Mural products, especially the retinal products, so I was excited to try this sunscreen. Unfortunately, it didn't work well for me. Almost immediately after applying it, my face felt like it was covered in a very heavy, extremely oily layer. After a couple of hours, my skin started feeling itchy, and I couldn't wait to wash it off. This was the only new product I had added to my routine, so I'm confident the sunscreen was the cause of the reaction. I'm disappointed because I've had such great experiences with Mural's other products, but this sunscreen just wasn't a good fit for my skin."
Good product
"Love how it smells and its texture, how it feels on my skin."
"A little goes a long way. Easy to apply, doesnt feel oily."
Favorite sunscreen
"Love the dry/smooth texture and how it absorbs into the skin. Provides a touch of a dewey glow without being sticky or overly shiny. Literally my favorite sunscreen."
"Well I received my product 🥰I always like Murad"
"Once again I’m disappointed. I have always loved Murad essential C with 30 SPF nice & light not greasy at all. You stopped making it - I wrote to beg Murad to keep it but was told the 50 SPF was better (a lot more $$$). So I tried this & as I expected it’s very thick goes on greasy & worst part is that it causes me to break out! NOT HAPPY"
My favorite SPF
"I absolutely love this SPF! Lightweight and goes on smooth! Leaves my skin glowing and hydrated!"
Q&A
- Does this need to be reapplied throughout the day to maintain protection?
- Yes. An SPF 15 protects against 94% of UVB rays whiles an SPF 30 protects against 97%. Anything higher is only about a 1% increase which can provide people with a false sense of security. In light of the various factors that can decrease protection we do recommend reapplying once every 2 hours to maintain a constant level of protection, regardless of the SPF. Believe it or not, a significant amount of sun damage happens when you’re in the car. While a typical car window protects you from 100% of the sun’s UVB rays (the ones that cause sunburns), they don’t provide protection from UVA rays (the ones responsible for sun damage and aging skin).
- The sunscreen I currently use can be used on my eyelids and around my eyes and I have had no issues. Can I use Clear Coat in the same way?
- You do not want to apply it any closer than the orbital bone around the eye. Your body heat will allow the product to spread across the skin.
- Is this sunscreen for face or body?
- The Multi Vitamin Clear Coat is for your face.
- Is this product a substitution for Invisiblur? It appears to have disappeared from your website without notification to a monthly subscriber of many years.
- Yes, it is indeed an alternative to the Invisiblur. I am so sorry you did not receive our email.
- Hi, I was wondering if it's safe for young or teenage skin.
- Yes, it should be fine however with younger skin, Dr Murad always advises performing a patch test.
